Just a Tiny Bit of Butter

Last night we took a trip to the Bella Vista in Woodside, via limo, no less, for some flambéed action.

And they did not disappoint.

The classic steak diane was incredibly tender, and the perfect meat option for people without teeth. (Seriously. It was that tender.)

In this video, you can see the lovely Jennifer assisting in its dangerous preparation.

Of course we couldn't walk away from the evening with only ONE flaming meal under our belts. So an order of cherries jubilee was a must.

Michele is helping out in this one. Towards the end you can hear the sad envy of a fellow patron as he realizes what he's been missing out on. Poor sucker.

Don't Give It To Immigration, OK?

In August we ventured to Vegas, and had dinner at The Golden Steer, an old (very old) steakhouse off the Strip. They had Bananas Foster on the menu, prepared tableside. Yes!

We promised the waiter we wouldn't show this video to Immigration, so if you're from Immigration, don't watch, mmmmkay?

The Video That Started It All

In July, during an annual trip to Palm Springs, we discovered Melvyn's Restaurant at the Ingleside Inn, and an instant love of all things flambéed was born.

I think this video speaks for itself, but will add that it may be the greatest video ever shot, and is worthy of inclusion in a Martin Scorsese movie.
